Today is the winter solstice – the shortest day of the year. It is the moment that, in the northern hemisphere, the North Pole is tilted furthest away from the sun on its orbit. It is also therefore, the point at which days start getting longer – so summer is a coming yippee! There is just the small problem of weeks and weeks more of cold grey wet days before I can lounge around with an ice cold drink feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin, but a girl can dream!
The grass in the campsite was getting a little long, and in the winter the ground is too wet to allow to allow any large or heavy vehicles onto the fields, so we have invited some sheep over to stay for a while to feast on the grass – a very eco friendly way of cutting grass! I caught this one napping under a tree!
